product manager in the Silicon Valley.

I build PRODUCTS from start to finish

I'm a product manager with ten years of experience.

My last company was backed by Y-Combinator. Before running a startup, I worked in business and product development at some of the top Silicon Valley companies.

I can design, code, market, and sell. I want to work with developers and designers and help teams drive measurable results using iterative processes.

My first full-time job was at Google on the Glass Team. I worked on brand messaging, community development, and social engagement.
MAY 2015
HotelTonight

Market Manager

I wanted to get closer to the customer and have a bigger impact on a company, so I joined a startup. Market Managers were General Managers of their regions, and I was responsible for supplier relationships, sales, and regional growth in Southern California, the Midwest, and the Southeast.
AUGUST 2017

I was promoted and moved to New York City to start a new HotelTonight branch. I hired around 80% of the office staff including four direct reports.
OCTOBER 2018

I taught myself to code during nights and weekends and left HotelTonight to attend a coding bootcamp (Le Wagon) in the Summer of 2018. I was returned to HotelTonight three months later as a Product Engineer.
APRIL 2019
Airbnb

Product Engineer

Four years into my startup journey, HotelTonight was acquired by Airbnb. I was moved to the Airbnb Hotels team and helped the CTO with the vision and implementation for a hotels product on Airbnb.
SEPTEMBER 2020
Topkey

Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer

On nights and weekends, my co-founder and I researched the short-term rental space. We had an idea to connect homeowners with property managers and set out on our own to create a marketplace for the two parties. We got into Y-Combinator in the Winter 2021, and I'm still an advisor at the company today.
JANUARY 2022
PointCard

PointCard is a consumer FinTech company and built the first debit card with cash-back rewards to help solve the credit debt epidemic. I worked as a product manager on the growth team, and my job was to grow sales and to improve funnel conversion.

What They Say

If you worked with Tom in the early days, you know he is the epitome of a self-starter. He basically taught himself every skill by watching YouTube videos, and then subsequently went on to become the best in every one of those skills.

Director, HotelTonight

Liz Eavey

Thank you Mr. Tom Patton for stepping into the role of in-house design ninja for all our partner facing communication on the Local Ops Team! We really appreciate all of the work you put into this outside of your normal MM responsibilities. Our materials would be much uglier without you.

Supply, HotelTonight

Local Operations Team

Tom helped Stacker rebuild a piece of our site from the ground up, and I could not have asked for a better person to work with on the project. Tom is creative, incredibly communicative, and was always willing to go the extra mile to make sure things ended up exactly how we wanted. Would highly recommend working with Tom, and hope to do so again down the road.

CEO, The Stacker

Noah Greenberg

So impressed at how you've stepped up and the amazing results in terms of volume, and PB margin speak for themselves. Grateful to have you on the team!
